For 45 years the Anne Arundel County Community Action Agency has helped families and individuals attain their dreams of being self sufficient. Last year, 7,000 families were helped by one or more of our 44 programs.
Though numbers demonstrate impact, our story, one of helping people help themselves and each other, is best told by the families, friends, supporters and donors who are a part of Community Action’s extended family. Their intertwined stories make up the fabric of Community Action.
As we move forward, we recognize the importance of continuing to strengthen this relationship. We believe that Together, We Can break the cycle of poverty in Anne Arundel County by focusing on three specific goals:
- Develop a strategic plan with the input of you, our friends, clients and partners, a vision that will chart a new course for Community Action.
- Improve effectiveness by using the National Community Action Standards of Excellence as a guide to identify agency strengths and areas needing improvement.
- Create a Poverty Reduction Framework for Anne Arundel County by continuing to facilitate the efforts of the Poverty Task Force.
We take pride in the great things we have accomplished in our 45 year history, and we look forward to continuing our efforts well into the future.
Together, we can continue to help people help themselves move toward self sufficiency by offering education, support and empowerment counseling.
Together, we can help people help each other by being a friend, supporter, volunteer and/or donor with Community Action. If you would like to help, please pull out, complete and mail the enclosed self-addressed envelope.
Together, we can make a difference.
Sincerely,
Brian Angus
